Collaborative Divorce
Collaborative Divorce is the cutting edge approach to divorce using legal representation, but with the express intention of avoiding the stress and trauma of litigation. In Collaborative Divorce, couples and their attorneys agree in advance not to litigate. If either party ignores the agreement and goes to court, both attorneys resign from the case. Unlike a traditional divorce, Collaborative Divorce uses a team approach. The team consists of you, your spouse, your lawyer and your spouse’s lawyer and the team very often is expanded to include:
Financial Advisor
Educates the team on the short and long-term financial consequences of your divorce to help the achieve a workable outcome.
Child Specialist
Provides expertise in child-related matters, helping the team develop a parenting plan that best serves the children’s interests.
Divorce Coach
